Santa Barbara Is Good for Your Health

by | Mar 1, 2021 | Things to do | 0 comments

It is well documented that time away is good for your soul. People return from vacations feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Santa Barbara can add another level to that healthy feeling with numerous wellness options throughout the city. Here you will find everything from preventative healthy experiences to therapeutic cancer treatments.

Santa Barbara is home to the largest underground crystal salt cave in North America. Salt Caves features Himalayan pink salt with healthy and holistic qualities. The salt was sourced from northern Pakistan and is approximately 200 million years old. Benefits include promotion of healthy pH balance, blood sugar health, and bone strength along with prevention of muscle cramps and respiratory health support. Specialized health classes and spa treatments have been offered here since 2012. Participate in a yoga or sound healing class. Soothe your body with a mineral facial or salt massage or scrub. The caves are available for bachelorette or bridal party spa packages as well as private events. This is truly a unique experience that will make you completely forget that you are beneath State Street.

They say that you are what you eat. Luckily, the Santa Barbara Certified Farmers’ Market Association boasts six markets on six days of the week. The largest is held downtown every Saturday morning beginning promptly at 8:30 am. With so many farms in attendance you can easily find everything you need to prepare healthy meals in your fully-equipped kitchen at our inn. Perhaps take the opportunity for a juice cleanse weekend while visiting Santa Barbara. Each of the six markets has its own personality so we recommend trying them all: Goleta on Sundays, Oldtown Santa Barbara on Tuesdays, Solvang on Wednesdays, Carpinteria on Thursdays, and Montecito on Fridays. Since there isn’t a market on Mondays, you can always stock up on the weekends or use it as a cheat day (we won’t tell).

If cooking for yourself doesn’t sound like a vacation, try sampling the decadent menu at Oliver’s of Montecito. Every indulgent bite is 100% organic and vegan. They also feature an extensive wine and beer menu along with garden-to-glass cocktails. All of this is served upscale farmhouse-style atmosphere. You may be tempted to come back every night so you can try everything on the menu.

Santa Barbara is also home to Issels Immunotherapy Centers. They provide a unique and comprehensive way to strengthen the immune system. The non-toxic cancer protocols are designed to allow the body to make use of its own natural immune and defense mechanisms to destroy cancer cells. Treatments at Issels can be combined with standard cancer therapies. They have been successful at attaining long-term remission of advanced and therapy-resistant cancers. The outpatient facility has been providing treatments since 2004.
